A Note From the Principal

October 18, 2026

Dear Wildcat Families,

Welcome back!  We hope everyone had a wonderful Fall Break and enjoyed some time to rest, recharge, and spend time with family! We are excited to welcome our students back and kick off the 2nd Nine Weeks!

The weeks ahead are filled with exciting activities, opportunities to learn, and special moments to celebrate together. We can't wait to see our families at some of these events!

This Friday, we will celebrate all the hard work from our first nine weeks with our Wildcat Pep Rally! 🎉 We will recognize our top-performing students, celebrate Wildcats who are making progress toward their learning goals, and honor students who demonstrate the character traits we value at GLE.

Please remind your student to wear their house colors on Friday as part of our Pep Rally!

Here's to another nine weeks of learning, growing, and getting better every day!

With Wildcat Pride,
Sonya Simpson
Principal of Greenleaf Elementary

Attendance Matters

10/5 - 10/9 Percentage: 94.2%

PK: 89.3%
K: 91.3%
1st: 94.7%
2nd: 95.9%
3rd: 96.9%
4th: 93.7%
5th: 93.5%

Our campus attendance goal is 96.5%, but the week before Fall Break, our attendance dropped to 94.2%. Every day at school is an opportunity for our Wildcats to learn, grow, and connect with their classmates. Let's work together to make every day count!

A BIG shoutout to 3rd Grade for reaching 96.5% attendance!

They've earned a trip to the Wildcat Arcade this week AND an extra pumpkin to launch during next week's Pumpkin Catapult Competition!

Let's keep showing up, working hard, and reaching our goals! When Wildcats show up, great things happen!

Coding Comes to Life in Makerspace!

Our 1st, 2nd, & 3rd -grade students had a blast exploring Ozobot coding in Makerspace! Students practiced sequencing, problem-solving, and computational thinking as they created paths and used color codes to tell their Ozobots what to do.

It was exciting to see our young Wildcats learning that coding can be creative, hands-on, and FUN!

Help Us Fill the Kitchen for Men (& Women) Who Cook!

Our October 24 fundraiser needs more chef teams, and you don’t have to be a chef—or a Splendora ISD employee—to join the fun.

Gather friends, family, or coworkers to prepare a favorite dish and decorate your booth. Teams donate their time, food, and booth décor, helping make the evening a fundraiser for Splendora students and educators.

If you know someone who would love to participate, please help us spread the word!  Reach out to Janet Sinclair (Jsinclair@splendoraisd.org) to sign up or for more info!
