Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Important School Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

  • Morning Drop-off Time: Students cannot be dropped off until 7:50 am. For student safety, please pull up to the front door. A staff member will greet your child each morning when the doors open.
  • Transportation Changes: Changes must be submitted in writing by 2:30 pm. You may send a handwritten note with your child or email the front office. For safety and security, we cannot accept transportation changes over the phone.
  • Early Check-out: If your child has an appointment, you must check them out before 3:30 pm.
  • Late Afternoon Pickup: Due to traffic flow and safety, student check-outs are paused after 3:30 pm. After this time, students must be picked up through the standard car rider line.

Car-Rider Route

Student car riders should be picked up and dropped off at the front of the school. Using the Car-Rider Route map, directions are as follows.

  1. Turn into the parking lot from Bright Sunshine Road at the school’s main entrance.
  2. Proceed in two lanes as directed on the map.
  3. After the double-stack area, merge into a single lane. Follow staff instructions.
  4. After your child is safely dropped off or picked up, continue following the route to exit back onto Bright Sunshine Road

The campus features multiple designated loading areas. To ensure a smooth traffic flow, vehicles from the two car-rider lanes merge before entering the loading zone.

Complete the 2026-2027 Car-Rider Tag Form

  • Please stop by the front office to pick up your new car rider tags for the school year.

Complete the 2026-2027 Walker/Bicycle Rider Form

  • Eligibility: Only students who reside in Townsend Reserve, The Canopies, and Presswoods (Sections 5-8) may be dismissed as walkers. All other students in these subdivisions will be car riders or receive bus transportation.
  • Morning Crossing Guard: Crossing supervision begins 15 minutes before the campus opens its doors to students at 7:50 a.m. Students should not arrive at the crosswalk before 7:35 am.
  • Weather Safety: Students will not be released to walk or ride a bike home during thunder or lightning. If severe weather occurs at dismissal, students will remain inside until a parent or guardian arrives to pick them up.
  • Car Rider Tags: We encourage parents to request a car rider tag as a backup option in case the weather prevents your child from walking.
  • Responsibility Beyond the Crosswalk: Once students have safely crossed the street, they will not be accompanied by a staff member. At that point, Splendora ISD is no longer responsible for the student.
  • Pre-K & Kindergarten Walkers: These students will be released only to an adult at the crosswalk.
