Tammy Parker joined the field of education in 1996 at Splendora ISD as a substitute teacher. Soon she was hired as an ESL paraprofessional at Splendora Elementary School, responsible for instructing Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students as well as assisting the ESL teacher with students in grades 1-8. In 2000, Mrs. Parker took a break from this role to complete her degree in education. Following graduation from Sam Houston State University in December 2001, Mrs. Parker worked the remainder of that school year in Conroe ISD as a 6th grade ELAR/SS teacher. For the 2002-2003 school year, Mrs. Parker returned to Splendora ISD where she worked at Splendora Intermediate School for two years as a 3rd grade self-contained/GT pull-out teacher. An opportunity opened for Mrs. Parker to return to her roots, and she became the elementary ESL pull-out teacher at Splendora Primary School. In 2005, Mrs. Parker transferred to a Kindergarten teaching position on the same campus where she served as the team leader, a mentor for new teachers, and was twice selected as Teacher of the Year. During this time, Mrs. Parker completed her Master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership and earned a principal certification from Lamar University. She has been an Instructional Specialist in Splendora ISD since 2014 and has led the district Mentorship Program since 2017. Mrs. Parker has been married since 1989 to a former Splendora ISD honor graduate who served in the United States Army and earned both a Bachelors's and Masters's degree during their marriage. Mrs. Parker and her husband are very proud parents of twins who also graduated with honors from Splendora High School and have both gone on to earn various degrees. Crafting, gardening, traveling, spending time with family, and reading, dominate Mrs. Parker's "free" time.
